ACI Works with LAPD to Bust Illegal Animal Street Sales!
Sickly baby bunnies, turtles stacked on top of each other in paint buckets, and puppies stuffed into tiny cages withering away in the hot sun. That's not what you'd expect on the streets of downtown Los Angeles, but to the criminals who profit off these animal babies, LA's black market is big business.Hardly known to most Los Angelenos illegal street sales abound in downtown's Santee Alley. Until now. ACI worked directly with the Los Angeles Police Department in November of last year and provided them with the body of evidence that was necessary to take down the entire animal-dealing cartel. In the past couple of weeks, several arrests have been made including key players in this ring.
With a solid, sustained body of evidence of this criminal activity, prosecutions can now be pursued and won. These animal abusers are now off the streets and running scared, no longer profiting off the backs of defenseless animals. As a law enforcement agency, ACI is committed to partnering with other departments and agencies to find and punish perpetrators of these vile crimes.
Through your generous donations, ACI's investigation made this bust possible. As you can see ACI's efforts have a real impact against those who profit from animal abuse. Continuing investigations can only happen with your help. Funding is tight all around, yet ACI's operating expenses remain lean, with over 90% of our donated dollars going directly toward busting and investigating animal abusers.
